Italian Soft Glass 101: Decorative Beadmaking

Discover the art of Italian glass beadmaking! Over this 5-week course, you’ll dive into shaping techniques and decorative patterns, exploring everything from dots and scrollwork to filigrana and silver foil decoration.

Course Overview:
In each 3-hour session, you’ll learn how to create beautifully detailed beads, starting with shaping basics (rondels, spheres, cylinders) and progressing to advanced forms like bi-cones and elegant tapers. The course covers specialized techniques, including line work, raised scrolls, and intricate patterning.

Effetre Italian soft glass and tool kits are provided, though students will purchase their own additional glass during class. Prior experience with a torch is required (such as our Potekglass Try-iT! Glass Torch Class).
