Art in the Shop: Making Marbles
Marbles are a crucial part of the Potekglass repertoire! They can vary in color and pattern, as shown in the photo below. A marble's spherical shape adds a layer of difficulty to the fabrication process. Currently, Potekglass is working on a a commission for custom marbles.

Artist in the World: Josiah McElheny
Josiah McElheny is a multimedia artist who's primarily know for featuring glass and mirrors in his work. His pieces often start with blown glass. Mirrors and repetition reoccur throughout McElheny's work and question the viewers perception. The repetition in his art symbolized the interconnectedness of the world. It also serves as a reminder of the infinite span of time.

Open Torch and Kiln
Join us for an open torch and open kiln session. This includes 4 hours on our equipment with a set of student tools.
Open kiln includes a quarter shelf portion of 24" round kiln to fire your projects
Glass Menagerie - Fish

Try-iT! Class
3 hour class
Cost: non-member $95 / member $69
This beginner class is our introduction to sculpture on the torch. Using Boro color and clear rod, students will learn the fundamentals of creating shapes into small animal sculptures. Students in the fish class will learn seals, how to tune a gather and smash, heating out tool marks, and how to work with and strike colors.
Free Glass Friday
Every Friday in September there will be a Free Glass Friday every Friday!
This includes 4 hours on our equipment with a set of student tools and free glass. The glass provided for this session is Italian soft glass, borosilicate glass and bullseye glass.
